IT has been an exciting year for Twisted Blue. We would like to thank all of the great venues that we have played at this year! A big shout out to the fans who show up as well. It has also been a very busy year. We have finished our 2nd album called 100 MPH and we are currently releasing singles from that album. As always, we are still writing new songs and playing shows as well. We are looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings for us as a band. We are currently booking for 2026 and filling up our roster with some great venues. Make sure that you all stay tuned so that you can see if we are coming to your town.
You can’t go wrong with Johnny Kunz on lead guitar, Matt Thom on Bass, Tony Harris hitting those drums, and of course Scott Alexander on vocals and rhythm guitar. This new album, 100 MPH, is a bit different than our first album which was self-titled Twisted Blue. There are some special things to know about 100 MPH. The song Clayton was written for Matt Thom in remembrance of his best friend who passed away. Shortly after the release of our first album we met in the studio to practice for a string of upcoming shows. When Scott walked in, Matt was already there and was very emotional. That morning, he found out that his best friend, Clayton, had passed away the night before. You have to understand that we are more than just a band. We are a family. We are bound by music instead of by blood. Scott sat down with Matt as the rest of the guys came in. He explained what was going on. Scott went home and wrote the song Clayton based on the memories that Matt has of Clayton. It is a song that we all love and perform with a passion that one would have for the loss of a good friend.
Swamp song was written by accident. Matt had a funky, slide bass riff that he was playing. Scott was listening to it just before a practice and said, “I can write something to that.” He asked Matt what he sees in his mind when he plays it. A week later, Scott came back with the lyrics to Swamp Song, and the band developed it. This song comes from Scott’s southern roots, and the story begins in Dalton, GA. The song was finished until Scott added one more verse for his Lady, Jennifer. It goes “Baby got my loving, got my heart on a string. Said baby got my loving, I’d give anything. To have her right beside me, she’s my everything.” That pretty much sums up how Scott and Jenn feel about each other.
Look for me was written by Matt Thom and its story goes like this. Matt was driving with his friend Art. Art said to Matt “When you get to the other side, look for me.” He was talking about when he passes on. Matt brought his song to the band and Look for Me was born. It is a deeply meaningful song that brings into question one’s own mortality as well as the questions of where we all go when we pass on.
The song 100 MPH which is also the title of our new album is something that Scott brought over from years ago. It has a driving beat and makes you feel like you are a teenager again as you drive down the road with your love by your side. It has also become the song that we close each of our shows with.
So, what’s next for us you might be asking? We will be releasing more singles in the upcoming months, playing shows, and of course bringing new music to you as we develop the songs. Scott’s passion for writing, coupled with the great skills from all of the members of the band will keep you rocking.
